When exactly did they break the street into two at the fountain? Was it in like 1996 or 1997? --Jkonrath 12:54, 20 June 2006 (EDT)

You mean to make a turn around or do you mean when did they cut it off so that you couldn't drive through? When I came here in 1996, I think it was available as a through street (if you could get past the gates with a pass) for about a year and possibly in 1997 was when they blocked it. But I always thought that the blocking was more for construction purposes. However, it has been 10 years now and I think they've made more permenant barriers there on the east side of the block. The Black Cultural Center is blocking where it used to go around the south side of the Auditorium. That was done in like 1998 or so. -- Mark 13:06, 20 June 2006 (EDT)
It used to be that the south side was a one-way street going east, with parking spots on either side, and then it turned north and followed behind the auditorium. The north side was was a one-way street going west. Where those met, it turned into a two-way street that continued eastward. I think the construction altered all of this, I just didn't know when. I think one of the reasons, aside from the routing around the auditorium, was to seal off the central campus area and make it more of a pedestrian campus. --Jkonrath 17:05, 20 June 2006 (EDT)
Nevermind, your new edits make more sense and pretty much say what I just said. --Jkonrath 17:06, 20 June 2006 (EDT)

Does anyone have any idea when the road will or may be reopened along the northside of the auditorium? ---Liam 13:03, 2 October 2006 (EDT)

Probably never. It has been blocked for about a decade and it doesn't look like that will change anytime soon. Chris Eller 16:33, 2 October 2006 (EDT)
