Talk:T.I.S.

This is a bit of a mess, partly because the parent corporation and the actual bookstore have the same name.

TIS = Tichenor Institutional Services. The Tichenor family owns it. There used to be a Tichenor publishing, not sure if/when that ended.

They had a store at UFlorida in the 00s. (Possibly the buyout of an existing store?)

They also had a bookstore in Illinois, which stopped selling books in 2016 and just sold apparel and stuff. https://dailyillini.com/showcase/2016/08/22/t-s-bookstore-stops-selling-books-rebrands-illini-shop/ - not sure if the ownership changed, but it's closed now.

I am almost sure that TIS bought Aristotle around 1998 or so, and I could have swore their location (basically a block or so west) was like an overflow TIS store or just had swimwear or something like that in the early 00s. I'm probably hallucinating that. --Jkonrath (talk) 19:34, 9 September 2021 (EDT)
