Susan Clements

Susan Clements was an IU English graduate student who was killed by an ex-boyfriend, Andreas Drexler on April 23, 1992. She was 23 years old and came to IU from South Bend, Indiana. She was hailed as an outstanding student and was to receive an award the week of her death for the best paper written by an IU student in the area of women's studies. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. Clements's friend,Steven Molen, who was also an IU graduate student, was also killed when he tried to intervene when Drexler shot Clements on the 14th floor of Eigenmann Hall.
