From Bloomingpedia

Rax Roast Beef (or simply Rax) is a fast-food restaurant focusing on roast beef sandwiches.

Rax was known for having an endless salad bar, and slightly more upscale architecture in its restaurants, with a solarium in the front.

After reaching its peak in the mid-80s, the company went bankrupt in about 1991, and most restaurants closed. They still has a few locations open, mostly in Ohio.

There was a Rax in Bloomington at 1199 S. College Mall Road in the 80s/early 90s. There were also other locations in Indiana, including Elkhart, South Bend, Goshen, Kokomo, Indianapolis, and Anderson.
