Myles Brand

Myles Brand (May 17, 1942 - September 16, 2009) was the President of Indiana University from 1994 through 2002. He was sworn in as President on August 1, 1994. Previously, he was the President of the University of Oregon from 1989 to 1994. He holds a BS in philosophy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1964), and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Rochester (1967).

In 2002, Brand left Indiana University to become President of the NCAA. He died of pancreatic cancer a few years later.
