John P. Sheehan
John P. "Jack" Sheehan (February 20, 1924 - July 25, 1968) came to Bloomington from Miami University of Ohio in 1953 when he was appointed to the faculty of the Department of Radio and Television at Indiana University. There, in addition to teaching classes, he was instrumental in developing IU's FM radio station, WFIU.
Jack was well known in the university community for his many stage and television roles, as emcee for the annual Little 500 Variety Show, for the Bloomington Tribune newspaper column he wrote for several years in the mid 1960s, and as emcee for the weekly "College Bowl" program on an Indianapolis television station.
He died unexpectedly at age 44.
