Isaac Hodgson was a 19th century architect. A native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, he emigrated to the United States in 1848 and eventually settled in Indianapolis. He designed several courthouses in Indiana, including the 1876
Marion County Courthouse (demolished) and the Bartholomew County Courthouse (1874, still standing). In Bloomington he designed the Monroe County Jail built in 1870. The jail was destroyed by fire on February 7, 1935.
