From Bloomingpedia

Indiana University Press is a nonprofit publisher of scholarly books and journals affiliated with Indiana University, and is located on the third floor of the Wells Library in the Indiana University Office of Scholarly Publishing. Founded in 1950, IU Press is recognized internationally as a leading academic publisher specializing in the humanities and social sciences. The press produces more than 170 new books annually, in addition to 26 journals, and maintains a backlist of more than 2,000 titles. The press emphasizes scholarship but also publishes text, trade, and reference titles. IU Press's program is financed primarily by income from sales, supplemented, to a minor extent, by gifts and grants from a variety of outside sources.

In October, 2014 Dr. Gary Dunham was appointed director of the press and digital publishing.
