Milton McPhetridge

Milton McPhetridge (1802-1882) was one of the earliest settlers of Monroe County and a trustee of Indiana University.
Mr. McPhetridge came to the county in 1823, farming and teaching school. He purchased a farm in what was then Seminary Township, and held many positions, including school commissioner, Circuit Court Clerk, and County Auditor. He was appointed university trustee in 1872 and served for eight years.
